This collection is comprised of five letter books relating to Lemuel E. Quigg's activities in the United States Congress and in New York City politics (April 25, 1894-March 2, 1895). During this period, Quigg served as the editor-in-chief of the New York Press, and was a congressional chairman for the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of State.
